  1. Introduction, Outline and General Information

JLCT is a Japanese Language Capability Test conducting in several countries.  Each level of JLCT is generally equivalent to the corresponding level of the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test).
The test is designed to be practical and useful in real-world situations. It is an effective way to measure/evaluate practical Japanese language proficiency

The JLCT Test is widely acceptable for admission to almost all Japanese language institutions in Japan . However,  this test is not just for those who want to study in Japan. It is also recognized by the Japanese Immigration Service Agency as a proof of Japanese language proficiency in the real-world situation and business-related contexts.

The JLCT test is open to all non-native Japanese speakers and Japanese language learners.

JLCT Test is available in 5 different levels of Japanese Language Capability  : –  JCT5 (For Beginners – Easiest Level) to JCT1 (For Advanced  – Highest Level).

Test Sessions : The Test for each level consists of different sections as follows

JCT1 and JCT2  : Two Sections 

  • Section 1 : Vocabulary, Grammar and Reading Comprehension
  • Section 2 : Listening Comprehension
     

JCT3, JCT4, JCT5 : Three Sections

  • Section 1 : Vocabulary
  • Section 2 : Grammar and Reading Comprehension
  • Section 3 : Listening Comprehension

Important Note : To qualify the test as a whole, It is necessary to pass each section of the test separately by obtaining the qualifying marks for that particular section. 


The test is generally conducted 6 times a year in Pakistan –  in January, March, May, July, September and November.

  1. Official Fee of JLCT Test in Pakistan
  1. The official Test Fee for the JLCT Test in Pakistan is P.Rs. 6,000. 
  2. There is no sub-agent of JLCT Pakistan in Pakistan. Please do not pay more than this official Test fee to anyone as the JLCT Test Fee.  We reserve the right to take action against any person or organization who charges any amount more than the official test fee from any candidate in the name of JLCT Test Fee. Such organization may be banned from participating in the JLCT Test in future.
  3. Please note that the JLCT Test is conducted in Pakistan following the highest standards of integrity and honestly and strict invigilation control and procedures. Cheating or getting any external help or favor before, during or after the test is simply not possible in any way. Please beware from any person or organization who may make false promises to get you qualified in the JLCT Test.
  4. Registration will not be considered and accepted until the full test fee has been paid in advance at the time of registration.

1) پاکستان میں JLCT ٹیسٹ کے لیے سرکاری ٹیسٹ فیس  -/ 6,000روپے ہے۔

2) JLCT پاکستان کا کوئی سب ایجنٹ نہیں ہے۔ براہ کرم کسی کو بھی اس سرکاری ٹیسٹ فیس سے زیادہ JLCT ٹیسٹ فیس کے طور پر ادا نہ کریں۔  ہم کسی بھی شخص یا تنظیم کے خلاف کارروائی کرنے کا حق محفوظ رکھتے ہیں جو JLCT ٹیسٹ فیس کے نام پر کسی بھی امیدوار سے سرکاری ٹیسٹ فیس سے زیادہ رقم وصول کرتا ہے۔ ایسی تنظیم پر مستقبل میں JLCT ٹیسٹ میں شرکت پر پابندی لگائی جا سکتی ہے۔

4) رجسٹریشن پر تب تک غور نہیں کیا جائے گا اور قبول نہیں کیا جائے گا جب تک کہ مکمل ٹیسٹ فیس رجسٹریشن کے وقت پیشگی ادا نہ کر دی جائے۔

The JLCT Test is generally conducted at the Test Centers of NTS (National Testing Service, Pakistan). 

In Islamabad, the test will be held at NTS (National Testing Service) Test Center. NTS Test Center is located at the following address.

  1. JLCT Application Form and Method of Filling it
  1. Please download the JLCT application form from the Downloads page and example how to fill it  from the web site. The Example shows how to fill-in the application form.

  1. The JLCT application form can be filled either by handwriting or by Computer. 
  2. Each candidate to complete the Application Form with recent photo and correct information as required in the form. Please DO NOT STAPLE THE PHOTOGRAPH. PASTE IT ON THE APPLICATION FORM.
  3. Please also fill-in your Examinee Number on the Application Form at the specified two (2) places as shown in the Example.  Please check your examinee number from the Examinee List posted on this site in the DOWNLOAD Section about 10 days before the test date. 
  4.  In case of students from a Japanese Language School, the school principal, teacher or Instructor in charge should sign and stamp the application form to attest/verify that the information written is correct. It would be the responsibility of the School Principal / Teacher to ensure that the candidate writes all the information correctly.  
  5. In case of individual candidates, they can sign themselves to verify that the information on the form is all correct.
  6. On the day of the test, this application form shall serve as the Examinee Slip. The candidate MUST bring this application form with him/her personally or this application form shall be provided by the candidate’s school at the time of test.
  7. At the time of the test, Please handover the original application form to the in-charge of the test center.
  1. On the Test Day : Necessary Information and  Test Procedures
  1. Documents and Items to Bring with you on the Test Day 
  1. Each student must bring his / her Original CNIC  or other proof of identification.  Without Original CNIC , students will not be allowed to take the test. 
  2. Only the students taking the test will be allowed entry into the test centers. No other persons will be allowed unless specific permission is given.
  3. Original Completed Application Form with photograph properly pasted on it (Not Stapled). The original application form shall be collected by the in-charge of the test center.
  4. HB Lead Pencil, Eraser, Pencil sharpener.  Please use only HB Lead Pencils to fill in the Answer Sheets.  Ball pens or ink pens cannot be used to fill in the answer sheets and such answer sheets will be cancelled. 
  5. NOTE : Mobile Phones, Smart Watches and Electronic devices are strictly not allowed in the test hall.

  1. At all the test centers, the students MUST arrive by 10:00 AM.
  2. Latecomers will not be allowed to take the test

  1. Method of filling-in the JLCT Test Answer Sheets
  1. Please download and check the method of correctly filling-in the answer sheets
  2. Please carefully check the correct method of filling in the JLCT Answer Sheets as per attached examples. There are always many mistakes. The  answer sheet is rejected for grading due to mistakes in filling of basic  information like date of birth in correct format (YYYYMMDD) , examinee number, grade of test (e.g. JCT5, JCT4), Gender (Male (M), Female (F)), . As a result, the student fails although his answers are correct. Please guide and explain these points to all your students properly.
  3. Please also ensure that ONLY lead pencil is used for the answer sheet. The answer sheet is rejected if a Ball Pen or Ink Pen is used to fill it in.
  4. Please darken the correct bubble / bullet properly. In case of an error, properly and fully erase the wrong bubble and fully darken the correct bubble .
  1. Intimation of JLCT Test Results

The result sheet will be posted on this site around 2 to 3 weeks after the test.  In addition, the candidates can also check their result online from the JLCT Japan site.

  1. JLCT Qualification Certificates

A Qualification Certificate, printed in Japan by JLCT Japan, is provided to the candidates who qualify the JLCT test. In addition, a Detailed Marks Certificate is provided to all the candidates who qualify the test or not. These high-tech certificates are fake-copy protected. The certificates are provided to the candidates around 5 weeks after the test.
